The Los Angeles Dodgers’ offense had one of those nights on Labor Day and slugged seven home runs while driving in 16 runs.

There are certain games that stand out when you look back at the Los Angeles Dodgers season every year. The Labor Day slugfest that the Dodgers put on against the Colorado Rockies is one of those games.

There were so many great things that happened in this game. First and foremost, the narrative of the game was the debut of Gavin Lux, who started at second base and went 2-5 with a double and three runs scored.

Lux has arguably been the best hitter in all of the minor leagues and is going to be the long-term solution at second base. Now, he gets a chance to fight for a postseason roster spot.

Then the team went out and scored 16 runs on seven home runs. Joc Pederson hit two in his first three at-bats and had a double that would have made it three if it was three feet higher. He then crashed into the wall and got banged up but saved three runs. He appears to be OK.

Cody Bellinger took the home run lead, Chris Taylor hit two of his own and Kenta Maeda made his first appearance out of the bullpen as we head into October.

The only real negative for the Dodgers was the pitching, which allowed nine runs between Maeda and Walker Buehler. Buehler was particularly not sharp, allowing six runs on eight hits in five innings of work.

But hey, a W is a W and the Dodgers are going to look to carry the momentum from last night into Julio Urias‘ start on Tuesday.

The Dodger offense has a tendency to get cold after games like these and they hopefully did not waste all of their offense in one night. As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can get at least one base hit on Tuesday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 2): Justin Turner

One person that was not part of the offensive frenzy on Monday night was Justin Turner, who had a rest day on Monday and did not even appear as a pinch hitter.

After seeing all of his buddies put up some runs on the board, the Dodgers best power hitter of the second half is going to join the fun, just a little late, with a home run of his own.

That is right, not only is Turner going to get a base hit on Tuesday but he is going to go deep.

Turner is one for four against opposing starting pitcher, Chi Chi Gonzalez. But you know what that one hit is? You guessed it, a two-run home run.
