A lot needs to go right for a team to win the NBA Championship, but that does not mean that everything will go right for the Los Angeles Lakers.

In order to win the NBA Championship, a team must be led by star power and have the proper complementary talents to best the other elite teams in the league. That is why in the playoffs having an effective bench player can be so important.

That is what the Los Angeles Lakers have tried to build after missing out on one of the best big threes of all-time if they were to sign Kawhi Leonard. The roster is deep with role players and the front office is hoping that some of these guys can step up when it matters most.

While the team is realistically deep enough to run a 13-man rotation if they really wanted to in the regular season, postseason rotations often only boast eight or so guys, giving the Lakers a ton of room for failure.

The Lakers’ brass knows that there are going to be players that disappoint, but they also know that there are going to be players that step up and exceed expectations.

As a fan, the best thing to do is not be surprised when certain players fall short. Sure, a lot of good things need to happen for a team to win it all, but no title team is perfect from one to 13.

Here are the players you should keep an eye on and perhaps set the bar a little bit lower for heading into the 2019 season.
