The Los Angeles Chargers did something on Sunday that the team has not done for four years: win the first game of the NFL season.

The Los Angeles Chargers are notorious for three things: tremendously slow starts, losing close games like it is fun to them and in recent years, not being able to kick the football. Last year, the Chargers helped shake off the losing close games with some big wins and the kicking situation with Michael Badgley.

This year, after starting last year 1-2, the Chargers look to shake off that slow start narrative. And so far, the team has done a great job in doing so.

The Chargers walked away with a hard-fought win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 to move to 1-0 for the first time since 2015. With the Detroit Lions, who look to be one of the worst teams in the league and blew a 24-6 lead in the fourth quarter to tie the Arizona Cardinals, the Chargers have a good chance of starting the year 2-0.

That is certainly promising as the Chargers look to make a run at their first Super Bowl title in franchise history. Every win matters. However, just because the win on Sunday was promising does not mean that everything was promising on the field.

There were some good things about the team, some bad things that could be addressed and some ugly things that could hold them back moving forward. Here is our breakdown of the good, bad and ugly for Week 1 against the Colts.
