Anthony Davis: Points

Anthony Davis it the key acquisition of the offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers as the team was able to trade Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and a good amount of draft capital to the New Orleans Pelicans in return for Davis.

This trade was the culmination of months of buildup, where Laker fans really had no idea whether or not they were going to land a second superstar, let alone AD. But alas, the Lakers landed that second star and are in the position they are in today because of it.

Adding AD also added a new dynamic that we have never really seen before: LeBron may opt to play second fiddle for the first time in his career. While LeBron is still elite and among the five best players in the league, it is no secret that he is getting older and needs to save himself for when it really matters.

As a result, Davis is going to take over as the leading scorer and quite frankly, the leading difference maker with his defense as well. That is what makes him the Lakers’ best candidate to be named MVP this season.

With LeBron distributing, Davis is not only going to set a new career-high but is going to average at least 30 points per game this season.
