Los Angeles Rams: Another bad performance could snowball into more
Week four was a disappointing display put out by the Los Angeles Rams, who were going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who just lost to a rookie Daniel Jones’ Giants team. The Rams seemed to be favored in every which way possible.
Jared Goff might have thrown for 517 yards but he only threw two touchdowns and had three interceptions on the day. Not the greatest game Goff has provided for the Los Angeles Rams. He should have performed much better, than again so should have practically everyone else.
If you want disappointment, well look towards the running backs of the Rams today. Todd Gurley had only five, yes, five carries for only 16 yards. He still somehow managed to gather two touchdowns.
Malcolm Brown was a mirror image with five carries for only 14 yards, but with no touchdowns. A very dismal running performance put together by the Rams. Then again, it doesn’t help that they were trying to play catch up all game.
The receivers shined today, as they should with Goff throwing for 517 yards. The stars of the show were Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, both being targeted massive amounts. Each got targeted 15 times!
Kupp only managed to bring in nine of those for 121 yards and a touchdown. Woods grabbed 13 of his 15 for 164 yards. Both monster games from these guys who tried to keep the Rams in the win column. Unfortunately, it was not enough.
The blame for this loss has to be on the defense. The Rams defense had an awful showing. Letting Jameis Winston throw for four touchdowns and 385 yards. He also only threw one interception to Goff’s three.
The Rams also managed to let one of the weakest running back committees in the league get yards. Ronald Jones got 70 yards and a touchdown and Peyton Barber got himself a touchdown too. Chris Godwin had a field day against the Rams going for 172 yards with two touchdowns. The Bucs didn’t even really need Mike Evans today.
After such a sorry and disappointing game, the Rams need to regain their focus and come together to fix their struggles. If they don’t soon, there could be major consequences for the team this season.
