The 2019 Los Angeles Dodgers’ regular season is all buttoned up and the team finished the year with a strong month of September.

The Los Angeles Dodgers finished the 2019 season with their greatest win total in franchise history. They were record-setters on the field, hitting a new National League record for home runs with 279 and they were record-setters at the box office set a new attendance record with 3.9 million fans to show up.

September was no different as the Dodgers continued their assault on the rest of the National League.

When they clinched the National League West in Baltimore on September 10, it would have been easy for the Dodgers to put the season on cruise control but with 15 games left in the season instead, they kept going and would only lose four games the rest of the year to set the wins record.

Let’s look back at the Los AngelesDodgers record-setting September.

18-6

Over the month, the Dodgers went 18-6, good enough for a .750 win percentage, which their best month all season. The 18 wins represented their second-best total for a month, and they got there by surging at the end winning seven games in a row tying their high for the year.

The Dodgers were helped by taking on their National Lege West rivals, winning 13 of 16 games against them and sweeping the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres.

The team continued to smash the ball hitting 45 home runs on the month and they had a lights-out bullpen, posting a 2.95 ERA, their lowest total all year.

26

Corey Seager lead all Dodgers batters with 26 runs batted in. It was his best month as a run producer and he is getting hot at just the right time for the Dodgers.

Last year the Dodgers lost Seager to injury in April and the team struggled offensively without him until they traded for Manny Machado. This year, despite missing significant time in June and July, Seager has been a consistent hitter in the line-up.

September was his best hitting month as he hit .291, slugged .616 and had an OPS of .939. Seager is heating up as the Dodgers enter postseason play.

2.13

Hyun-Jin Ryu turned things around in the month of September, after posting a 7.48 ERA in August, Ryu posted a 2.13 ERA in September. Ryu seemed to find his form after giving up 18 runs in August in 21 innings, Ryu only gave up six runs in 25 innings.

Next. Dodgers' biggest questions about postseason roster. dark

Ryu had been the team’s dominant most consistent starter until August when the bottom fell out, so the fact that he was able to turn things around in September is a good sign as the Dodgers look to win a World Series. If Ryu is back to being himself that’s bad news for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ opponents in October.
