Los Angeles Rams: Areas that must improve to beat Seattle Seahawks
By Jason Reed
2. The secondary
The Los Angeles Rams’ secondary was terrible last week. The defense as a whole was a massive letdown but the secondary was so bad that if they were to play like this every single week then the Rams probably would not be a 10-win team.
It takes a lot to make Jameis Winston look like an elite quarterback and even though Winston still threw his coveted pick-six he looked pretty good. He looked way better than Goff did, that is for sure, and that is saying something.
Chris Godwin and Mike Evans had themselves a day against the Rams’ secondary and made these plays happen for Winston to look better than he really is. Godwin finished the day with 12 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns while Evans hauled in just four catches, albeit for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Luckily for the Rams, the Seattle Seahawks do not have the most electric receiving corps in the league so they should have an easier task as hand.
The one worry, though, is the speed that the Seahawks possess with their receivers. Both Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf possess intimidating speed that could lead to a massive day for one of the two, similar to Godwin’s massive day last week.
