Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley has impressed so far in training camp. Could this be his second shot at redemption to shine as a bright spot on an already bright team?

Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley has been the early star talked about among all the players in training camp. Many have come forward to praise his defensive prowess and abilities to handle the ball. If he continues to impress, why not plug him into the starting point guard spot and have a lockdown defender?

Avery Bradley has even gained praise from Anthony Davis, who we all know is a great defender, about his defense. “I’ve seen Avery play defense from afar, but to see it every day the way he gets after it and competes. It’s pretty special.” (via NBA.com)

To get praise from the top-dog on the team is not something you get by being friendly and cool. You have to have the mentality that the stars do every day, and Bradley seems to have that during training camp.

Also via NBA.com, Avery Bradley said, “Make sure you guard me every single practice, so we can get better, That has to be everybody’s mentality.”

It seems right now that the Los Angeles Lakers have a great group of guys who won’t be lazy or take days off. Everyone is serious, it only takes one look at the training camp interviews to know that. The Lakers have one goal in mind.

To win a championship.

Avery Bradley has been a good player when you really look at it. Last season, coming off an injury and being at his most unhealthy weight wise, he averaged 16 points per game. Now, he probably won’t get nearly as much court time as last season, seeing as the Lakers have such a deep roster, but he is going to be really effective with the minutes he gets.

With Avery Bradley seemingly returning to form, the Lakers look like they are ready for a title run. Avery Bradley returning to the defensive stopper he was in years past and next to, AD, Danny Green and JaVale McGee, would be a part of a very nice defensive group.

Next. Way-too-early midseason trade targets. dark

Not to mention all the space he is going to get playing with guys like LeBron and AD. If Bradley continues to keep this play up, he might be the star of the season for the Lakers.
