David Freese: Retires

David Freese has had a really good career, albeit his best moments came without the Los Angeles Dodgers. In his short time with the Dodgers Freese has raked, constantly coming up in the big moment when the team needed him most.

Because of that, many fans likely do not want to see Freese go and I would not blame you if you are outraged by my sentiment. Even I do not like it, I would like to see Freese return as a fan, I just don’t see it happening.

Freese made it clear last year that he would have retired if the Los Angeles Dodgers did not bring him back with the team option and I think that is exactly what the team is going to do this go around.

Look: the Dodgers have an extremely deep roster and the team would probably much rather use that roster spot on someone like Edwin Rios rather than Freese, who missed most of the year with an injury, anyway.

The Dodgers will miss his big-time bat but eventually, father time does catch up to everyone and it is probably time that it caught up to David Freese.

It is unfortunate that the team could not get him another World Series ring but at least he was able to get one in his career.
