1. Anthony Rendon is a forced fit in the infield

It seems perfect at a glance. Justin Turner‘s fielding has diminished and Turner even said that he would not mind a position change if needed next season.

This has created a dream scenario. By moving Justin Turner to first base, the Dodgers can seemingly bring in Rendon to be that middle-of-the-order right-handed bat that they need. Sounds great, right?

The problem is that it is not that easy. Sure, the Dodgers could move Turner to first base, but what about Max Muncy? Is he going to become the everyday second baseman? Because last offseason, when that seemed like a possibility, most fans were extremely quick to point out his fielding at second.

And if he takes over at second then where is Gavin Lux going to go? You cannot hide Lux in the minors any longer. He is ready to be a big leaguer. Sure, you could move him to short, but what about Corey Seager?

This is where some fans make the case of trading Seager after he was disappointed in the NLDS. Yes, he was very disappointing, but that take is extremely near-sighted for a 25-year old shortstop who has already been an MVP finalist and had to take a year off of baseball activities.

The Dodgers pride themselves on having versatile players that can play anywhere, but in this case, there is no real room for Rendon.
