2. The Seattle Seahawks are not as good as their record shows

The Seattle Seahawks were a playoff team last season and appear to be trending in that same direction with a 5-2 record this year. While Seattle will undoubtedly be in the hunt when the year is winding down, the team is still not as good as the record indicates and they are not good enough to win the division.

It is going to take a 13-3 or 12-4 record to win this division this season. I can’t see the Seahawks getting any better than 10-6 this year, which is still good but will show that the 5-1 start might have been a bit misleading.

Just look at the Seahawks’ wins this season. They had a one-point home win against one of the worst teams in the league in the Bengals, a two-point win over the Steelers in the game that Big Ben got hurt, a 17-point win over a rookie quarterback in Kyler Murray and the Cardinals, a one-point win because of a missed field goal against LA and a four-point win over the disappointing Cleveland Browns who coached themselves out of that game.

They are essentially the Los Angeles Chargers, except they edge out these wins instead of losing them at the last second. Everything has been close, even against the bad teams in the league.

They also are not the same team at home. Both of their losses came in Seattle against the Saints and Ravens and they should have lost to the Rams. Their two wins at home came with a combined three-point margin.

Seattle will start being exposed later in the year and are going to have to fight tooth and nail to finish the year 5-4 just to end up with a 10-6 record.
