Yimi Garcia: C+

With all things considered, Yimi Garcia absolutely had a passable 2019 campaign. Down the stretch, he ended up just being an innings eater for the Dodgers as we all knew that he would not make the postseason roster, but he was effective in his role and it is hard to give him anything less than a C because of it.

Garcia finished the season with a 3.61 ERA in 62 and one-third innings pitched. He struck out 66 batters, walked 14 and had a 0.866 WHIP.

Garcia was not the most reliable on the mound as he did let up 15 home runs and was not immune to a bad outing. When Garcia was good, though, he was really good—he just was not good all of the time.

From June to August Garcia threw 33 and two-thirds innings and had a 2.67 ERA. The problem is that at the beginning of the season he started slow and he finished the year with a 4.50 ERA in September.

Garcia definitely has a chance to be an impact arm in next year’s bullpen if he pitches more as he did in the summer rather than how he bookended the season.
