Clayton Kershaw: B

If we were grading the postseason then this grade would obviously be different, as Clayton Kershaw allowed three early runs in Game 2 of the NLDS to put the Dodgers in a hole they could not get out of and allowed back-to-back home runs that blew the lead in the eighth inning in Game 5 of the NLDS.

To be fair, he was put in a bad position in Game 5 needing to face the heart of the Nationals’ order. But we still cannot ignore what happened: he threw the pitches.

In the regular season, Kershaw was nothing but consistent. He was not the same dominant Kershaw that we have grown to love and showed his age with his dip in velocity but he was able to go out every single night and do enough to get the win for the Dodgers.

Kershaw finished the year with a 3.03 ERA and went at least six innings in every single start up until August 31, where he was roughed up in back-to-back starts to raise his ERA.

He did not have any significant injuries after starting his season on April 15 and was even named to the All-Star Game after missing out on it last season. Granted, he was helped by having the fifth-highest run support in the MLB, but he still did his job.
