Joc Pederson: B+

Joc Pederson had a career year by setting career highs in home runs (36), RBI (74), Total Bases (242), batting avg. (.249), slugging (.538) and OPS (.876). Pederson made most of his damage from the lead-off spot, setting a new Dodgers record with 10 leadoff home runs.

Pederson was average in the outfield. When the Dodgers experimented with Pederson at first base to keep his bat in the lineup it proved disastrous. Pederson committed six of his eight errors for the season at first base in just 20 games played at that position and the Dodgers ended the experiment.

Pederson was reliable when there was a right-handed starter, hitting .262, but continued to suffer when facing a left-handed starter batting just .197. Pederson played well enough in the Dodgers’ NLDS loss, hitting .267, with three extra-base hits and scoring three runs.
