Los Angeles Dodgers: 2019 grades for every player
By Jamaal Artis
Corey Seager: B
Corey Seager had an up and down 2019 season. He started off slow, hitting just .249 with seven home runs after two months. Seager would heat up starting in June when he hit .425, finishing the season with a .272 average and tied for the league lead in doubles (44).
Seager dealt with the injury bug missing a month of baseball due to a bad hamstring. Seager also struggled defensively all year with 15 errors to lead the team. Seager proved to be a productive run producer hitting .313 with runners in scoring position and leading the team in runs batted in September (26).
Seager’s September did not translate to October where Seager went 0-8 with runners in scoring position and helped contribute to the Dodgers five-game NLDS loss. At 25 years old, Seager is now speculatively part of trade rumors.
