Ross Stripling: B-

Ross Stripling was good yet again in 2019 but was not as good as he was in 2018 when he earned his only all-star appearance. The end of the year numbers is actually not that different as Stripling finished last season on a bad note.

Once again Stripling had an in-between role where he would provide starts for the Dodgers when needed, oftentimes starting in bullpen games while also being a reliable arm out of the bullpen. All in all, Stripling had 32 appearances in 2019, 15 of which were starts, with 90 and two-thirds innings pitched.

He finished the year with a 3.47 ERA and a 1.147 WHIP. There are a lot of teams in Major League Baseball that would love that kind of production and unfortunately for Stripling, he is the seventh or eighth starting option on the team.

We’re entering yet another offseason where there are going to be Stripling trade rumors. That is just the nature of the beast with a position that is so deep that is a luxury for most other teams.

There is a chance that Stripling threw his last pitch in Dodger blue but there is also a chance that he returns next year and continues his consistent trek as a long-relief/starter with an ERA around 3.51 (his career ERA).
