Cody Bellinger: A+

Cody Bellinger had an MVP-caliber regular season, hitting 47 home runs, driving in 115 runs and batting .305 while playing gold glove caliber defense in the outfield and first base. His 47 home runs were the most since Adrian Beltre hit 48 in 2004.

From the beginning of the season, Bellinger was the driving force for the Dodgers’ offense, leading the National League in Baseball-Reference WAR (9.0), Total Bases (351), and Intentional Walks (21).

Bellinger also finished second in runs (121) and OPS (1.035). In the field, Bellinger was first in fielding percentage by a right fielder (.990) and second in assists (10). He even led the Dodgers in stolen bases with 15. He was by every measure the Dodgers’ most versatile player and should be the NL MVP.

At 23 years old, Bellinger is the future star of the Dodgers—his 2019 season has confirmed that. We’re talking about the regular season so we will ignore his .211 average in the NLDS but his season was stratospheric.
