Walker Buehler: B

If we were including the NLDS in these player grades then Walker Buehler would be a bonafide A+++. However, we are not including his absolutely dominant showing in the NLDS, where he yet again proved that he has the gusto to pitch in the big spots and he is the ace of the team moving forward.

We saw some of that in the regular season as well. When Buehler was on you knew it was going to be a dominant showing on the mound. Buehler at his best is one of the most unhittable pitchers in the league.

There were seven games in the 2019 MLB season where the starting pitcher had 15 or more strikeouts. Walker Buehler had two of them and was the only pitcher to have multiple 15 strikeout games.

However, when Buehler was off he looked exactly like a young pitcher. He had several outings this year where he was rattled early on and had a bad start as a result.

This is evident from his win-loss splits. In games that Buehler won he had a 1.94 ERA. In games that he lost that rose all the way to 5.91.
