Los Angeles Dodgers: 2019 grades for every player
By Jamaal Artis
David Freese: A
Though limited to just 79 games because of injuries, David Freese did everything the Dodgers could have asked for. He played both first and third base whenever needed, in limited at-bats he still was effective hitting 11 home runs and managed a 1.002 OPS second on the team.
Freese also offered veteran leadership to the team and was his best when called upon. As a pinch-hitter, Freese hit .400 and with men on base, he hit .286 while driving in 23 of his 29 runs for the season. When Freese picked up a bat and the Dodgers needed a clutch hit he came through.
It carried on in the playoffs when Freese hit .500 (4 for 8), but alas, Dodgers fans have to say goodbye to Freese who retired after the season after 14 years in major league baseball.
