Los Angeles Lakers: Anthony Davis makes history in routing of Grizzlies
After a good win against the Charlotte Hornets, the Los Angeles Lakers were back at it again in the staples center against the hot Grizzlies. The flaming hot Grizzlies were put out in the second half of play as Anthony Davis had a historical game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are playing as they were expected to since the win against the Utah Jazz. LeBron has fully embraced his role, AD has fully embraced his role, and the team as a whole seem to have found their places.
The Lakers destroyed the Grizzlies 120-91 at home on Tuesday. This was sparked by Anthony Davis‘s historic game. AD put up an insane 40 points and 20 rebounds. He got to the line 27 times and made 26 of his free throws.
Davis was the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to score 40 or more points, snag 20 or more rebounds and make 25 or more free throws in a single game. That was Chamberlain’s 100-point game.
AD was on a whole other level against the Grizzlies. They couldn’t stop him even if they tried, and this was with his right shoulder having soreness throughout the game.
Not to mention AD played on both sides of the court. Contesting shots left and right, and staying as solid as he has been so far this year on the defensive end. It was quite the night for the brow and I have a feeling that he will have plenty more great nights ahead.
LeBron still managed to get himself 23 points to go along with 8 assists. Not too bad of a game from the king, but he did have his mishaps. Being too careless with the ball and sometimes not taking smart shots. His defense, still, has stayed solid and has impressed early on in the season.
KCP had himself a nice game gathering 13 points; most of which came during the blowout late in the fourth quarter, but nonetheless he had a nice game. Avery Bradley who has played solid defense finally had himself a decent offensive game with 12 points. JaVale McGee‘s night was also solid as he got 10 points and nine rebounds on the night.
Overall it was almost a perfect team game except for the start the Lakers came out with. It was slow and sloppy for the better half of the game. Eventually, the Lakers pulled it together and once they did, well.
They took care of business. It seems like there is no slowing down the Los Angeles Lakers at this point, they look more focused than ever.
