Francisco Lindor is the latest name that has been in the Los Angeles Dodgers trade rumors and will never escape that rumor phase.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off of their seventh consecutive playoff berth, which is the third-most in MLB history, without a single World Series title to their name.

The Atlanta Braves won a World Series in the fourth year of their 14-season playoff streak. The New York Yankees won a World Series in the second, fourth, fifth sixth year of their 13-season playoff streak.

The Dodgers are still empty-handed and this could create more of a sense of urgency from a front office that has not had the most urgency with big signings. The first potential signs of that are shining through, as the Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly expected to pursue a trade for Francisco Lindor this winter.

Lindor is a potential trade piece this winter as he is due for a big contract in two seasons and the small market Indians are not a team that gives out huge contracts and they could maximize his value by trading him now.

Thrown into those trade talks are Corey Seager, the Dodgers’ current shortstop who some Dodger fans want to see traded this winter. Seager does not have to necessarily go to the Indians, but if they trade Lindor, perhaps they trade Seager to get something out of him as well.

Some fans are already dreaming up the Lindor dream scenario and we are here to rain on the parade. A Francisco Lindor trade is never going to happen. Here is why.
