Los Angeles Dodgers: Players who are going to shock everyone in 2020
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the best team in the league in having emerging standout players and that will be no different in 2019.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have not won seven consecutive National League West titles by accident. The front office has always thrown out a great pitching staff and every single year there are players that shatter expectations and help the team win enough games.
It can be existing players or it can be rookies. Either way, whether you have heard of them before the season or not, it is a guarantee that the Dodgers will have more of this in 2020. Just look at the track record.
2019 was led by Cody Bellinger, who recovered from a sophomore slump to have an MVP-caliber year, and Hyun-Jin Ryu, who had a Cy Young-caliber year in a career year.
Max Muncy was a huge component of the Dodgers’ success in 2018, as was Matt Kemp. Bellinger burst onto the scene in 2017 as well as Chris Taylor. Corey Seager finished as an MVP finalist in his rookie year in 2016 that was complimented by a great rookie year from Kenta Maeda and an elite relief year from Joe Blanton.
Justin Turner started his all-star-caliber ways in 2015, Dee Gordon had a massive breakout year in 2014, and Yasiel Puig started it all with his memorable arrival to the big leagues in 2013.
There are several players that are candidates to be 2020’s version of the players listed above. Here are those three players.
