Los Angeles Dodgers: The dream Corey Seager trade scenario
By Jason Reed
Trading Corey Seaeger is not something that the Los Angeles Dodgers should be actively pursuing, however, there is one dream scenario that is possible.
Corey Seager was an MVP finalist in his first season and was viewed as the foundation that the Los Angeles Dodgers would build around. Now, just three seasons later, there is a legitimate buzz around trading Seager, which is not that fair.
The reason for this is how bad Seager was in the postseason, continually coming up in the biggest spots and leaving without a single hit with runners in scoring position. Recency bias is alive and real and this has led to many Dodger fan demanding that Seager be traded.
Francisco Lindor became involved when it was reported that the Dodgers would be pursuing him this winter. This is something that seems unlikely, and personally, I do not think would be that great, especially with the prospects that would get traded as well.
I have been strongly against trading Seager since the news first broke but there is one situation in which trading Seager would be okay to stomach. One scenario that would undoubtedly make the Dodgers much better than they already are, even without Seager.
It is a two-step system and one without the other still may not be worth it for the Dodgers. Here is my personal Corey Seager dream trade scenario, which would be the absolute only way I could justify trading him.
