2. Trevor May

Speaking of Scott Alexander and the bullpen, the Los Angeles Dodgers should be looking to add bullpen help this winter. The bullpen actually rebounded last season and finished with the best ERA in the National League but a large part of that was because of the starting pitchers that were contributing in the bullpen.

With Hyun-Jin Ryu being a free agent and Rich Hill‘s Dodger career likely being over, the Dodgers need to add two of those arms into the starting rotation, likely in Dustin May and Julio Urias.

That is not even counting Kenta Maeda, who reportedly has discussed a trade with the Dodgers as he is unhappy with his role as a reliever at the end of the season. Tony Gonsolin and Ross Stripling are still available to be those guys next season, but the Dodgers could always use more arms, especially with the uncertainty of Kenley Jansen.

Trevor May would be a great addition to the bullpen and is someone who not only makes sense for the Dodgers but could also be easily obtainable based on what the Minnesota Twins need.

May is entering the last year of arbitration this season, making the Twins more likely to listen to deals for the right-handed reliever. Minnesota is really short on starting pitching, so the Dodgers could include Kenta Maeda and a promising young player, such as Edwin Rios, for May.

Even that might be too much and the Dodgers might be able to get away with including someone such as Peter in the trade with Maeda. It all depends on what the Twins are asking for.

May finished 2019 with a 2.94 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 64 and one-third innings.
