This could be the winter that the Los Angeles Dodgers make a blockbuster move for a star player and the team is going to have to decide which star will help the most.

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell short in the National League Division Series in 2019 after setting a new franchise-record in wins with 106. Because of that, and the fact that the Dodgers have the money to spend, many are expecting the team to make a huge move this offseason.

The Dodgers have shied away from that huge acquisition under Andrew Friedman but because of that smart money-managing, the Dodgers are now in a great position to spend big this winter with multiple options available.

The biggest free agents available are a duo of pitchers, Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg, and an MVP finalist in Anthony Rendon.

The Dodgers have ties to both Strasburg and Cole as they are both Southern California boys and the Dodgers provide a place close to home that is also a winner. They also are tied to Rendon because of his insistence not to play into his mid-to-late thirties, which opens the door for a short-term, high AAV contract.

There is also the trade possibility of Mookie Betts, which is an extremely exciting idea to get behind.

Some fans are hoping that the Dodgers get two of the four but just getting one of the four would be a massive win. The one question is which star would improve the team the most?

We could break it down by the situation, statistics, fit, etc. but instead, we are going to go with a more entertaining approach (don’t worry, we will have separate articles for those that prefer analytics).

We are going to put each player on the Dodgers on MLB The Show 19 and simulate a season with the new-look Dodgers. Don’t worry, we are using updated rosters to reflect the new players, such as Will Smith, and will take Hyun-Jin Ryu, Rich Hill, David Freese and even Russell Martin off the roster, to be safe.

There are other moves the Dodgers could make to change the team more to complicate things but as the team stands right nowthis is meant to see which star helps the Boys in Blue the most.
