Los Angeles Lakers: Predicting the December Schedule
By Jon Soden
Next five:
Minnesota Timberwolves (December 8th)
Prediction: Win
The Timberwolves have improved this year, but just do not have the firepower to match up with the Lakers. Anthony Davis will be key in this game and need to show that he is the best Kentucky Wildcat in the building, matching up with Karl Anthony-Towns. This battle will probably be more intriguing than the game itself.
Orlando Magic (December 11th)
Prediction: Win
The Magic are an average team. The Lakers have walked all over average teams this year, and it should be no different here. Jonathan Isaac will be a key player to watch in this game that could help the Magic. He has turned into an elite defender and could give both LeBron James and Anthony Davis potential problems.
Miami Heat (December 13th)
Prediction: Loss
The Lakers will have a two-night stay in LeBron’s former home of South Beach. I would love to think LeBron won’t show his teammates the best spots in town, but they are going to want to have some fun.
The Heat is also not a team to mess with. They may not be contenders, but they are at the very least the next best thing. They will jump out to a quick start against the Lakers and steal a win.
Atlanta Hawks (December 15th)
Prediction: Win
Avery Bradley will once again be key in this game, as the only chance the Hawks have at victory is a signature performance by Trae Young. Bradley will hopefully be able to contain him, along with the rest of the Laker defense helping out. The Hawks will have no answer against the Laker’s offensive weapons, and the Lakers will come out victorious.
Indiana Pacers (December 17th)
Prediction: Win
The Pacers are a very well-rounded team and could give the Lakers some trouble. Myles Turner has the ability to give Anthony Davis some problems as well. In a close game, the Lakers will be able to get the win. Hopefully, they are not looking ahead to their next matchup against the Bucks, which could make this a trap game.
