Los Angeles Dodgers: Answering the biggest current offseason questions
By Jason Reed
3. How likely are other potential trade targets
Lindor is not the only player that the Los Angeles Dodgers have ties to as there are several other players that the team could look to be trading for as well this winter.
One interesting option is Josh Hader, who has been one of the best relievers in the league the last two seasons and is someone who the Dodgers reportedly have inquired about. Chances are that Hader gets traded this winter, but I highly doubt it is to the Dodgers.
Hader showed some bad signs last season with his home runs allowed and we see it all the time where elite relievers (Andrew Miller) fall off fast. I think the Dodgers have a better chance of signing a reliever (we will get to that) than trading elite prospects for Hader.
Kris Bryant is another name that has been thrown around as it seems likely that the Chicago Cubs will trade him, but I doubt it will be to the Dodgers. With extensions coming up for Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager in the infield, it is hard to see the Dodgers trading a player like Lux if they don’t think they can afford to extend all three.
That is also an issue with a potential Lindor trade.
Mookie Betts is someone who I would love to see in Dodger blue and I absolutely could see the team extending him if they traded for him after the 2020 season. This is where trading Joc comes into play, as he could either be part of this deal or make space for Betts in the lineup.
The Dodgers have the resources to make this happen. Joc, Dustin May and Keibert Ruiz would be more than enough for one year of Betts.
