Los Angeles Lakers: Way-too-early look at who the Lakers could trade
Quinn Cook
Quinn Cook has been a nice add-on for the team, except he really hasn’t had the chance to do much this season. Which, you cannot really blame the coaches for. Ahead of him is Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Danny Green and In a way (guard) LeBron James.
This is a very unfortunate situation for Cook to be in. He has only played in 20 games this season, averaging five points and shooting an abysmal 34.3% from beyond the arc. The only game that comes to recent memory that Quinn Cook was effective in was against the Chicago Bulls.
But besides that game, he hasn’t really showcased why he should stay put on the team. I understand that he does not get enough chances to prove his spot on the team. But, if he is good player and does not get any playing time, why wouldn’t the Lakers consider trading Cook for a better back up power-forward than Jared Dudley?
The chances of Cook getting traded would probably be even higher if the Lakers decide to keep Rondo around, which is more than likely going to happen. At least Rondo has proven himself during his career and can still be a contributor to the team, whereas Cook cannot be a nightly contributor for the Lakers. He might be able to be that for another team.
