Los Angeles Lakers: Way-too-early look at who the Lakers could trade
Danny Green
I know, I know. It sounds crazy at first. But when you really think about it, is Danny Green deserving enough to stay a starter on this Lakers roster?
Green is a great shooter, everyone knows that, and everyone knows that makes him a great fit with LeBron. But, He hasn’t produced a whole lot this season. Green might be the most inconsistent player on the Lakers roster.
One night Green will score 20 points and then the next five or so games he only will score minimal points. While this isn’t technically a bad thing for Green, it isn’t a good reason as to why he should stay with the team.
Green is only averaging 8.3 points per game and shooting almost as bad as Quinn Cook from three at an awful 36.3% on the season. To add to that, Green is an aging guard who is on a pricey contract of two years, $30,000,000.
He fits well with LeBron and the rest of the starting lineup, there is no denying that. Green has also proven himself a worthy defender. I just don’t know if that will be enough to keep him on the team, especially if the right trade came along. Unless Green becomes a constant reliable player, I wouldn’t be too surprised if he ended up on the trading block come deadline time.
