The Los Angeles Chargers’ season is essentially over, although they are playing to officially end the Oakland Raiders season in Week 16.

The Los Angeles Chargers were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 14 despite beating the Jacksonville Jaguars pretty soundly and followed that up and showed us why they are not a playoff-caliber team and were routed by the Minnesota Vikings.

The Chargers season is over and the only thing that the team really has to play for is better draft stock. With a slew of 5-9 teams in the league, the Chargers should not be trying to win games at this point in the season, as hard as that can be as a competitor.

However, they do have one minor thing to play for this week as they could officially eliminate the Oakland Raiders from playoff contention. Granted, the Raiders already have a massively slim chance, but the Chargers can put the final stamp on it with a win.

Plus, you cannot just roll over to your division rival, right? This game is impossible to gauge, here is how the LA Sports Hub staff sees this game going.

Jamaal Artis (15-7): 27-17, Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders will play their last game as combatants from the state of California. The Raiders will be playing in Las Vegas next season so it’s the end of an era for the two teams that started in the AFL in 1960.

Neither team is going to the playoffs it’s all about one more year of bragging rights. Chargers will seek their revenge after losing to the Raiders in Oakland.

Hil Lopez (13-13): 27-20, Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers face a Raiders team that has a slim chance of making the playoffs. They hope to avenge their loss to their rival and I see them doing so because of two factors. One, because stud running back Josh Jacobs is out with a shoulder injury. Two because the Raiders defense is so beat up and has been hemorrhaging yards to offenses. Philip Rivers and co. will take care of business.

Redan Lopez (11-13): 40-20, Los Angeles Chargers

Much like the Rams, the Chargers were humiliated in front of their fans. They looked pathetic against an equally, very talented Vikings team. The Chargers will redeem itself in its final game of the home season.

QB Philip Rivers will have his best and last game as a Charger at home with five touchdown passes. Oakland will continue its downward spiral after many thought it would be a playoff contender late in the season. The loss of starting running back Josh Jacobs will show just how ordinary Derek Carr is as a quarterback in the NFL.

Jason Reed (13-15): 24-21, Oakland Raiders

As a Charger fan, I tend to favor the pessimistic view of the team and with that in mind, and considering how disappointing this season has been, I cannot expect anything but a loss in this game.

Actually, it would be more disappointing if the Chargers win this meaningless game and ruin their draft stock, so that is probably what they will do. Regardless, there is a pretty good chance that this game comes down to the wire and the Chargers fall short, yet again.

Next. Why Gordon will return to the Chargers. dark

The Chargers will score three touchdowns and get a chance to win the game at home while a 90 percent pro-Raiders crowd will get loud. The Chargers will come up short yet again and lose this game by three.
