5. Sean McVay, 2017-Present, 32-15

Super Bowl Appearance: 1

Despite missing the playoffs in 2019, the Los Angeles Rams have never been below .500 as a team with Sean McVay as head coach. In his very first job as a head coach McVay quickly turned the Rams into a winner after an abjectly bad 4-12 first season back in Los Angeles.

In McVay’s first two seasons with the team the Rams won back-to-back NFC West division titles, breaking a 12 season playoff drought, and last year reaching their fourth Super Bowl in franchise history.

McVay did all of this while turning a moribund offense into one of the best in the NFL placing first and second in team scoring over McVay’s first season. Thanks to his great turnaround job in 2017 McVay was named the NFL coach of the year. 2018 was even better with the Rams going all the way to the Super Bowl before losing to the New England Patriots.

The Rams may have gone down in 2019 but don’t expect McVay to be down too long as the new decade starts in the Rams new home, Sofi Stadium.
