MLS Cup: 3 Supporters Shield: 2

No teams in MLS dominated like Bruce Arena’s LA Galaxy teams in this decade. Arena managed to produce a perennial winner despite having to corral the egos of star players like Landon Donovan, David Beckham, and Robbie Keane.

Arena’s teams were especially good the first five seasons of the decade as the Galaxy won two Supporters Shields as the best team of the regular season and three MLS Cups given to the playoff champion. Between 2011 to 2014 Arena guided the team to three MLS Cups in four years becoming the first head coach to accomplish this level of domination.

Along with winning titles Arena also brought in players who developed into international players for the U.S. National Team including Omar Gonzalez, Gyasi Zardes, and Sebastian Lletget.

Arena’s accomplishments surely made him the standard for coaching in the decade for MLS.
