2. Marvin Williams

Marvin Williams‘ NBA career has not quite panned out as many had expected when he was taken second overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Although Williams has not played up to being a second-round pick, he has enjoyed a long NBA career and would be a valuable bench piece to the add to the Lakers.

Williams would be the one extra wing that the team could use when the rotation shrinks in the playoffs and with his experience, although he has limited playoff experience, he could become one of the more reliable options off the Lakers bench.

Williams is shooting over 40 percent from beyond the arc this season and while he does not play great defense, he is not a defensive liability either. He would be competing for time with Kyle Kuzma but could be the team’s backup three, essentially replacing and upgrading from Jared Dudley.

Williams is owed $13.6 million this season and the Charlotte Hornets definitely are not going to make a run at anything this season.

Because of that, it would not be all that shocking to see Charlotte buy Williams out if they do not get any offers at the deadline and allow him to pursue an NBA Title.
