2. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins practically embraced the tank like an NBA team, and we are not talking about a Dolphin tank. The team traded away any valuable asset it had, stockpiled some picks and finished with one of the worst records in the league to have a high selection in the NFL Draft.

Many expected the Dolphins to be the clear-cut losers of the season, but that was not the case. The team actually overperformed, largely in part due to head coach Brian Flores, who in a season this bad, showed a lot of promising signs.

It sounds crazy, but the Dolphins finishing 5-11 feels like 2-3 wins too many. They have the fifth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. They also have the 18th pick, the 26th pick, the 39th pick, the 56th pick and the 70th pick. The Dolphins have six picks in the top 70.

That does not mean that they will be willing to trade any of those for Todd Gurley, but it does mean they are set up for a lot of rookie contracts and perhaps a quicker turnaround than expected.

With over $93 million in cap space, why not send a late-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams to get a former All-Pro running back that very well could be a Pro Bowler? They certainly can afford it and having Gurley there to lean on will be extremely beneficial to a rookie quarterback.

After this season the objective should not be to lose as much as possible and Gurley makes the team better and is going to be a relatively cheap asset to acquire because of his contract.
