The Los Angeles Clippers are viewed as one of the three teams with a legitimate shot at winning the NBA Championship in 2020 but still have their own concerns.

There are three teams in the NBA that the consensus believes could win the NBA Championship in 2020 — the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks. While upsets certainly could happen, those three teams are well ahead the rest of the pack.

It is a refreshing and exciting period for the league as the Clippers, Lakers and Bucks present new title-contending faces. The Lakers spent most of the 2010s in the lottery, although they have a long title history. The Clippers have never made it out of the second round and the Bucks have not won a championship since 1971.

The Clippers are perhaps the most intriguing of the three teams. After trading Blake Griffin two years ago, it appeared as if the Clippers were going into full rebuild mode, but they weren’t. The team shocked the NBA, way over-performed last season and landed Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in what was a crazy NBA offseason.

Now, led by Leonard and George, the Clippers are one of the best defensive teams in the league and deepest in the league as well. They are the third seed in the Western Conference, with the one caveat being that the team has not even been at full strength for most of the season.

That dynamic is true: the Clippers have not been at full strength for much of the season. But the team’s success despite this, mixed with this being the most talented team in franchise history, has led to an aura of invincibility for some Clipper fans.

There absolutely are still concerns that Clipper fans should keep in their mind as the team makes its pursuit to the first championship in franchise history. And no, don’t worry, I am not a Laker fan. I wrote this same article for them, too.
