Los Angeles Rams: 3 players that have to perform in 2020
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Rams had a disappointing 2019 campaign and in 2020, there are three players that desperately need to perform well to avoid backlash.
The Los Angeles Rams were unable to build on their Super Bowl appearance against the New England Patriots at the end of the 2018 season and instead completely missed the playoffs in 2019, finishing the season with a 9-7 record.
While this was massively disappointing for a young team that had just marched all the way to the Super Bowl, it was not a completely lost season for the Rams. The Rams laid a few eggs in games they should have won, sure, but there were multiple losses that easily could have been flipped.
If Greg Zuerlein nails the game-winning field goal in the Rams’ first game against the Seattle Seahawks then the Rams and the Seahawks would have finished with 10 wins. The Rams would have had the head-to-head tiebreaker and would have made the playoffs.
Who knows what would have happened from there. The Rams were talented enough to beat any team in the playoffs and the conversation around the team would be completely different.
However, that is not what happened and now Ram fans are hoping for a rebound season in 2020. Not only does the entire team have pressure on it, but individual players have a certain pressure as well.
For the sake of the own players’ careers as well as the Los Angeles Rams’ front office, there are three players on the team that have to perform well in 2020 and be integral parts of a (hopefully) playoff team.
Who are the players with the added pressure?
