The Los Angeles Chargers are tasked with one very important decision this offseason: find the quarterback of the future, and it might be Teddy Bridgewater.

The Philip Rivers era with the Los Angeles Chargers is officially over and now the front office has to find the team’s next quarterback, who will be the first quarterback without Rivers on the back of their jersey to be under center for Chargers since 2005.

The Chargers picked the perfect offseason to undergo this transition as there are so many options available at their disposal. The team has the sixth overall pick in a draft that has some good quarterbacks and the league is going to undergo a huge quarterback shuffle as well.

Many think that it is a foregone conclusion that the Chargers are going to draft a quarterback with the sixth overall pick, others are convinced that someone such as Tom Brady makes too much sense from a financial standpoint to pass up on.

And now, Teddy Bridgewater has entered the conversation. According to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, the Chargers have been consistently attached to Bridgewater this offseason.

It certainly would be an interesting signing as Bridgewater is undoubtedly looking for a starting gig after sitting behind Drew Brees for two years but thriving in his five games started.

Bridgewater might not be the most appealing name for Charger fans to hear but with all things considered, he would be a good quarterback to trust in 2020 and beyond. Here is why.
