Los Angeles Dodgers: Fringe players to keep an eye on during Spring Training
By Jason Reed
Baseball is finally back as Spring Training games are underway and there are several fringe players on the Los Angeles Dodgers who need a good showing.
It has felt like an eternity since we have seen the Los Angeles Dodgers in action and the team is quite different from the last time that we saw them in the National League Division Series.
The front office made the massive addition of trading for Mookie Betts and David Price, which goes along with other additions to the team, such as Alex Wood, Blake Treinen and Brusdar Graterol.
Most of the roster turned over and the Dodgers managed to maintain their youth on the roster while also improving, which can be a very hard thing to do for a team that just set a franchise record in wins.
For that reason alone, Spring Training is going to be very entertaining as fans are going to get their first look at the new Dodgers. It is also going to be exciting to see all the minor league players coming up through the system, as even with their big-league success, the Dodgers have one of the best farm systems in baseball.
Spring Training can be a stressful time for those fringe players on the roster, though. The players that are fighting for a small number of jobs with the big-league club that need to put together a great spring to earn a spot.
The Dodgers are so deep and so talented that there are not going to be many spots available, so a great showing is especially important for these players. Here are the three fringe players that we think will be the most interesting to watch, as they will bring their all during spring.
