Kings trade Alec Martinez to the Vegas Golden Knights: A-

The Kings finished off the triumvirate responsible for the game-winning goal in the 2014 Stanley Cup by trading the goal scorer, Alec Martinez.

Martinez netted the Kings two second-round draft picks one in 2020 and one in 2021, with Martinez sign for one more year they also didn’t have to retain any salary for the remainder of his contract.

A 32-year-old defensemen Martinez had seemed to lose a step and though some fans may have wanted a body in return, being able to get higher round picks and avoiding a cap hit is a steal in the NHL this day and age.

Fans may be upset about losing the player who scored the greatest goal in team history, but Blake again netted the most he could for a depreciated asset.
