The Los Angeles Chargers are looking for a new quarterback this offseason and it may surprisingly not come from the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Los Angeles Chargers are moving on from Philip Rivers and the key emphasis of this offseason is finding a new quarterback to play under center in the brand new So-Fi Stadium.

Many expect the Chargers to select a quarterback with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, which likely would mean Justin Herbert coming to LA. However, the Chargers are also lucky in the sense that this offseason also includes several experienced quarterbacks that could play under center.

One of the more exciting options is Teddy Bridgewater, who fell off the map because of injuries but reminded the NFL how good he can be by going 5-0 with the New Orleans Saints while Drew Brees was out.

Bridgewater didn’t just win those games for the Saints but he played pretty well overall. Most importantly, he is a dual-threat quarterback that does not turn the ball over, only throwing two interceptions in his five starts.

For a Chargers team that was as bad as it was last season because of constant turnovers, led by Rivers’ 20 interceptions, someone such as Bridgewater, who takes care of the ball, would be a great addition.

The Chargers’ front office seemingly recognizes this as well as according to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, the Chargers have been consistently linked to Bridgewater.

This obviously would change the complexion of the entire draft, as the Chargers would not need to select a quarterback sixth overall, can select a different prospect, which also affects the team’s other early-round picks.
