3.6. Jordyn Brooks, LB

Now, this is an early-third-round pick to get excited about. With the sixth overall pick in the third round of the draft, the Los Angeles Chargers would be selecting someone who has had a successful college career and in just a few seasons could be one of the best inside linebackers in the league.

Jordyn Brooks thrived all four years in a top conference in his college career and is the definition of an NFL linebacker. He has the size, frame and athleticism to be a modern-day NFL linebacker and is going to instantly make an impact on the Los Angeles Chargers.

The one concern with Brooks is how he is going to fair against more athletic receivers and running backs in coverage, which could lead him to be mostly an early-down backer in the early stages of his career.

Again, these are things that can easily be coached up, though, so while Brooks splits time with the likes of Denzel Perryman and Thomas Davis he will also be honing his craft and get up to speed with NFL standards in pass coverage.

At the very least, in three years Brooks can be a dominant early-down backer that excels in plugging the running lanes that can be disguised in certain defensive schemes. At most, this is a guy that could be a  Pro Bowler.

Walter Football ranks Brooks as the second-best inside linebacker in the draft and projects him to go anywhere from the second to the fourth round, so an early third-round pick is about right.
