Reason for: Tom Brady would have more weapons than he has had in quite some time
There is a give and a take with the Los Angeles Chargers. Where the team is giving up talent in the offensive line, it is taking more talent in the weapons in the passing game, which would be the most complete weapons that Brady as had in quite some time.
Tom Brady can look at the players that he would be throwing passes to with the Chargers and start salivating. It really is the perfect situation for him late in his career, weapons-wise.
The team has a true number one receiver in Keenan Allen, who is one of the most slept on receivers in the league. Allen is one of the best route runners in the league and is elite at getting separation in the middle of the field while also catching most of his 50/50 balls.
Allen is one of three receivers in the NFL to have 300 receptions, 3,700 receiving yards and 18 receiving touchdowns over the last three seasons, joined by Michael Thomas and DeAndre Hopkins.
The Chargers also have a young and blossoming deep threat receiver in Mike Williams, who averaged over 20 yards per reception last season. Williams has elite skills and after racking up 1,001 receiving yards this season, he is due for a Pro Bowl anytime soon.
The team also has one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the league in Hunter Henry, assuming they keep him with either the franchise tag or an extension. We all know how much Brady loves pass-catching tight ends.
Most important, the Chargers have the quintessential Tom Brady running back in Austin Ekeler. Ekeler is the perfect example of the kind of running back that the New England Patriots have deployed with Brady and as one of the best pass-catching running backs in the league, Ekeler would go together with Brady like peanut butter and jelly.
