Los Angeles Dodgers: Bold predictions for Corey Seager in 2020
By Jason Reed
Corey Seager has seemingly become the forgotten star of the Los Angeles Dodgers and could surprise a lot of people in 2020.
Corey Seager is one of the most intriguing players heading into the 2020 MLB season on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Just four years ago, Seager put together a Rookie of the Year-winning season with the Dodgers while also being named an MVP finalist.
Seager was viewed as the future of the franchise that would be the cornerstone piece to build around in the coming years. Then Cody Bellinger came, Seager had Tommy John surgery and now Seager has fallen a bit out of the limelight.
With the addition of Mookie Betts, the emergence of Max Muncy, the consistency of Justin Turner, the legacy of Clayton Kershaw and the domination of Walker Buehler, Seager has definitely become the player that has gotten significantly undervalued, even by his own fans.
Seager had a terrible showing in the NLDS, going just 3-20 and not coming through once with runners in scoring position, and that led to trade speculation in the offseason. Many fans wanted to see Seager dealt for Francisco Lindor.
The Dodgers (thankfully) didn’t pull the trigger on that trade and Seager is still in LA and is primed to prove to his own fans, as well as fans around the league, that he is the MVP finalist version of himself yet again.
Here are our three bold predictions for Corey Seager in 2020.
