4. 2017 World Series Game 1 home run

Let’s get a little personal. I was at this game, sitting in the left-field pavilion with my father, mother and sister. My mom works for a construction company and as her bonus, her boss bought us four tickets to see the Dodgers in the World Series for the first time since 1988.

I may or may not have cried a little bit when I heard the news, that is beside the point.

It was a 1-1 score and with two outs, two strikes and a runner on first, it appeared as if Dallas Keuchel was going to work another shutout inning after allowing a lead-off home run to Chris Taylor.

Turner smacked a high fly ball to left field and for the first time in my life, a ball went in slow motion, right in front of my eyes. Sitting pretty high in the pavilion, I could not see the ball get over the fence. I thought Marwin Gonzalez caught it.

I yelled an explicit that I cannot repeat here so loudly just a split-second before the crowd erupted. It was a home run! Turner had continued his red-hot postseason into Game 1 of the World Series, giving the Dodgers the lead!

The Dodgers went on to win that game 3-1, and it hurts to write but lost the series in seven games when they very well could have beaten the Houston Astros, and probably should have.

If the Dodgers went on to win the World Series then this would be higher on the list. However, in a series that Dodger fans want to forget, this homerun gets overshadowed by

banging

… other things.
