1. Rick Wagner, cut by the Detroit Lions

Rick Wagner is not necessarily the best player on this list, as both of the Minnesota Vikings players could probably make the case for that. However, he fulfills the team’s biggest need, has experience and has been reliable in his career, unlike Glenn.

Wagner has been the starting defensive tackle for started for both the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens in his seven-year career and has never missed more than four games in a season, which occurred in 2019.

As mentioned, Wagner is not the most talented player on this list and he is not a tremendous offensive lineman that is going to right the ship for the Los Angeles Rams. However, he certainly is above average and might not be as good as Whitworth was in his first two years, but could be a longer-term option.

Wagner is not going to get any incredible offers with a loaded draft class at tackle so the Rams might be able to get a steal and get him on a two-year, $8 million contract. That would shore up the two tackle positions for at least the next two seasons and is a great step in the right direction.

Because of the need he fulfills, the consistency that he has showcased in his career and the likely cost of Wagner, he is the best option for the Los Angeles Rams to pursue out of the players that were cut on Friday.
