Kobe Bryant’s memorial game

This game took place after the Los Angeles Lakers postponed a game against the Los Angeles Clippers so the team had more time to mourn the loss of Kobe Bryant. He meant so much to both the city of Los Angeles and the entire Lakers fan base and organization.

He was also an inspiration to LeBron, who inspired him so much while James was in high school that he grew his hair out to emulate the style of Bryant.

Once they were both in the league, they were one of the most anticipated Finals matchups that never came to be. From being two of the best to play, their time spent together on team USA, and LeBron carrying the torch for the Lakers, LeBron and Kobe came to form a great relationship.

This could be seen in the touching pregame ceremony that the Lakers put together that brought many players including James to tears and the heartfelt speech that LeBron gave to Staples Center.

The game itself was more of an afterthought that night and was one more about all the players and fans grieving together over the loss of such a legend that we all are still missing to this day. With that being said, however, LeBron still had an elite game with twenty-two points, ten assists, and eight rebounds in a slight loss to the Portland Trailblazers.
