2. Todd Gurley, 2015

This is where it starts getting really good as the Los Angeles Rams have two elite players that they have selected in the first round since 2013. The first being Todd Gurley, who if it was not for knee issues, undoubtedly would have run away with the title of the best running back in the league in 2019.

Even though he was more limited in 2019 and was not 100 percent, Gurley still had a season that most running backs would dream of having. He finished with 857 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 207 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Those numbers are very disappointing for what Gurley is capable of, which only showcases how dang good he is when he is at full strength. Gurley’s 2017 and 2018, which account for his two All-Pro nods and two of his three Pro Bowl appearances, were absolutely remarkable.

Gurley rushed for a combined 2,556 rushing yards on 535 attempts and 30 touchdowns. He also added in 1,368 receiving yards on 123 receptions with 10 touchdowns.

Christian McCaffrey has since stolen the spotlight as the best running back in the league as the things he is doing in the running and receiving game have been phenomenal. Gurley is still a great running back, despite his knee, and could easily return to the Pro Bowl in 2020.
