3. “Moment after moment, memory after memory, the Dodgers have done it again!”

Joe Davis did get a little bit of help in succeeding the legendary Vin Scully. It helps that his first season as the full-time play-by-play announcer also happened to be perhaps the most electric year for the Dodgers in three decades.

Sure, the team won more games in 2019, but 2017 truly was a special, and fun year. Some would say it was the Dodgers year, but the team ultimately fell short in the World Series for reasons that shall not be named.

The Dodgers seemingly could not lose. No matter what the situation was the team was in the game and oftentimes would pull things out of nothing and rip the heart out of their opponents. The baseball gods shined bright on the 2017 Los Angeles Dodgers.

Joe Davis captured not only the moment perfectly, but captured the feeling that every single Dodger fan had during the 2017 season. With the bases loaded in a tie game in the ninth inning, Chris Taylor delivered a walk-off single, which is when Davis gave the iconic moment after moment call.

Keep in mind that the Dodgers entered the bottom of the ninth inning with a 4-1 deficit. Yasiel Puig singled, three straight walks loaded the bases and scored a run, Corey Seager singled in two to tie the game and then Chris Taylor delivered the knock-out punch.

These are the kind of moments that Dodger fans remember form 2017, all of which were made that much better thanks to Davis.
