Los Angeles Rams: Full mock draft after free agency and Todd Gurley’s release

Round 3, Pick 20: Kyle Dugger, S, Lenoir-Rhyne
If there is a third-round prospect that has the biggest potential to break out and be a future Pro Bowler then it is Kyle Dugger. Dugger will suffer from playing outside of a Power 5 Conference in college but all of his physical traits and his tape indicate that he could be a long-time impactful safety in the NFL.
Dugger is as physically gifted as they come and has the perfect blend of speed, size and explosiveness not only to the football but in his tackles as well. There are concerns that he could get exposed in certain coverages with the talent-level jump, but Dugger has all the intangibles to be an elite safety in a few years.
With the right coaching, Dugger could be a starting safety in year one and even if he is just a depth piece in year one, he would be a massive help to the secondary in nickel and dime packages. Safety is not the biggest need, but it is a need and it is hard to pass up on Dugger’s ceiling.
Round 3, Pick 40: Tyre Phillips, G, Mississippi State
The LA Rams once again address the offensive line and make two of the team’s first four picks an interior offensive lineman. In Tyre Phillips, the Rams are drafting a physical brute guard that will excel in run blocking as early as year one and could blossom into an above-average pass-blocker as well.
Phillips would not be a lock to start in his rookie year but he would be an overqualified backup that gives the team a long-term option at the position.
