Rams Rumors: NFL season could start on time in September
By Nick Ziegler
Recent Rams rumors have been about the potential return of the NFL season.
As we deal with the coronavirus, recent Rams rumors have been mostly about the NFL Draft and free agency. The Rams haven’t been very active in free agency due to their cap situation, and they won’t have a ton of draft picks in the NFL Draft.
While all major sports leagues are shut down due to the virus, there has been a lot of speculation about what will happen when it is time for the NFL to start up.
For the NFL, they haven’t been too affected by the virus, as it became an issue in March with the offseason already underway. While other leagues have had to be suspended, the worst thing to happen for the NFL so far financially will be the NFL Draft not being a major event in Las Vegas.
Recently, President Donald Trump had a meeting with the commissioners of the major sports league. According to Adam Schefter, the President believes that the NFL will be able to start with fans on schedule.
Considering the impact the virus has had on other teams, this is great news for the NFL franchises. Starting the season on time with potentially fans in the stands would be a huge break for the NFL. While other leagues might be considering canceling the season, the NFL might not be affected by the virus too much.
A lot can change between now and September, but it will be interesting to see where the country is at come the summer when the NFL is beginning training camps. Training camp is a huge part of the preparation for the regular season, and it likely isn’t something that will be cut short.
As we continue without sports, we hope that the President is correct and the NFL will start on time in September.
